Cherry Mobile Flare: Cheapest Quality Android Phone in PH
Most of the Android phones offered to us by major brands, such as Samsung, LG and others, cost too much for the average Filipino. The product I am going to post today was the hit phone in the last quarter of 2012 and is still the star of the Philippine Android phone for 2013. I am talking about the Cherry Mobile Flare.
If a 5-inch android smartphone is too big for you, you might want to look at the Cherry Mobile Flare. It has a 4-inch WVGA (800 x 480) IPS display, powered by a dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor clocked at 1.2GHz. It also packs a 5 megapixel camera and a VGA front-facing camera. It includes 512MB RAM, 4GB of internal storage (up to 32GB for microSD card), WiFi and operates on an Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. But the Flare packs a smaller battery at 1600mAh.

I highly recommend this product to those who have little budget to spare but wants to own an Android phone. Just bring your charger with you all the time cause it might drain in the middle of the day. I just do not know why its price in Cagayan de Oro is at Php 4,200.

ReplyDeleteIn my opinion, that is normal. This happens especially if you are using 3G network. However, if you are using Wi-Fi the phone does not get too hot. I think it has to do something with the phone receiving and sending data over 3G network.

DeleteI am in the semiconductor/electronics company. Heat is normal as long as it was designed to handle. It will be a design flaw if the unit dies down related to heat. Phone should last very long (>5 years minimum).

DeleteYES INDEED. Samsung galaxy s3's battery na need lang e modify yung terminal ata tawag dun at tanggalin ung naka wrap na paper para ma fit sa back case. Pero ang pinaka fit na compatible battery is ung sa LG Optimus Black (BL-44JN), but still prefer ung s3 kasi 2100mAh while bl-44jn's default battery capacity nasa 1500mAh or 1600mAh lang ata un tas ung extend niya is 1800mAh pero ung nga lang pahirapan sa bl-44jn.

DeleteSir may flare din ako anung app po ba ang pwede para sa flare para tumagal ang battery life niya???at pano gamitin ang 3G ???? ..... dito sa cagayan de oro ,,, kung nandito ka sa cdo sa limketkai nlng kayo bumili para 3999 lang .... kapag ang flare nyo naman madaling ma lowbat kung hanggang 1-3 hours lang yung battery life niya ipacheck nyo na yan kasi nung pag bili ko lang ng flare madaling ma lowbat eh ...yun pagkatapos pinacheck up ko ayun may leak sa unit kaya pinalitan nila ng bago... ginamit ko kasi yung 7 days warranty :)

3G is for sim1 only. Then activate data, yung nasa taas na drag down. The phone will connect if blue na ang bars. :) hope it helped.

DeleteDepende po sa usage. If standby lang aabot po ng 24 hours or more pero if games + browsing, mga 8-12 hours ubos na batt. Pero if 3G mas mabilis po nagdrain at often naghang. :)

ReplyDeleteThese problems were years ago pa po. :) Ngayon, Cherry Mobile android phones are comparable to major brands like Samsung, Sony, etc. Hindi na lumulobo ang battery nila. Choose carefully na lang po kung ano sa mga release ng CM ang bibilhin mo. :)
DeleteNope. Hindi madaling masira ang cherry mobile. I bought my cutie on march last year pa. Ilang beses nalaglag pero ok pa rin. At take note.. nalaglag ng isang beses sa batyang me tubig pero buhay pa rin. :)

Or if you really want to buy two, search here for cherry mobile phones. Marami pong cool and affordable phones ang Cherry Mobile. To name a few: Cherry Mobile Click, Burst, Hyper, Flame, Omega HD, Titan, etc.
Or try out other local brands, MyPhone, Starmobile, Cloudfone.
Sana nakatulong. Or baka nakalito lang..haha

ReplyDeleteYan ang problema sa Flare. Yung sound niya. Pero na-update nyo po ba yung firmware nyan. May update kasi sa firmware ang Flare. It will help stabilize sound, fm, autorotate. :)

DeleteI am thinking of buying this phone and the article and comments are are really helpful. I was really distressed when I bought a cheap android recently. I got an SKK A2 and it really sucks. Yes, it was really cheap, but I was expecting at least a decent performance. It was a disappointment!
ReplyDeleteHello Mel! Today, you have a lot of choices for quality android phones. From cherry mobile, (from cheapest to expensive) CM Click, Flare, Burst, Thunder, Titan, Hyper, Flame, Omega. If you are looking for affordable go for Click but if you are looking for the best (so far) go for the CM Omega HD. Search nyo na lang po dito yang mga phones na yan sa search box sa taas. Mayroon din from Starmobile and Cloudfone. :)

DeleteI have checked out the CM Omega HD. It's quite tempting to buy one although it's a bit pricey. I'm not really into tekki stuff but what I really want is a phone with good enough picture quality for printing and sharing and good quality sound for playing music since it's really inconvenient to bring a separate camera and mp3 player.Which would you recommend because from what I've read in the comments, Flare has issues regarding sound quality and the camera isn't that good :)
DeleteYou are right Mel. Flare has some issues when it comes to sound and video/photo quality. Pero para sa akin OK na ito..haha madali lang kasi ako masatisfy..haha
DeleteBut if you really want to have a good camera go for Titan or the Omega HD. As far as I know those two phones has no issues in sound and picture quality. But between the two, I will go for the Omega HD.

DeleteMel, you cant go wrong with cm omega hd when it comes to camera. It uses back side illumination sensor already. Regarding mp3 not sure about the quality. Flare just fine but fusion bolt sound quality is better especially if you're using a good pair of earphones.
DeleteIf you just want good battery check the cloudfone thrill 430x with 4000mah. A bit chunky though.

ReplyDeletethe battery really sucks.with this phone, your charger will be your best buddy..check out Cloudfone Thrill 430x with 4000mAh. regarding kung madaling magchange ka nang OS, my answer is no...im using Galaxy Flare ROM (based on galaxy s duos FW). kung nabricked mo while flashing it, sira talaga phone mo lalo na kung hard bricked.
DeleteFlare kasi ang uso last year kaya maraming custom ROMs nagawa. Even until now, hot pa rin ang custom ROMs ng Flare. Pero if you really want to change OS, FLare is best for experimentation. :)

ReplyDeleteI could not really vouch for cm phone to be functional abroad. There are signal frequencies abroad that might not be compatible with flare. :) Some users say its ok. some are having diddiculties.

Delete@ryan: saan ka nagpm ryan sa cherry mobile or sa fb page ng Flare users? Make sure na lang kung mag-uupdate mayroon enough speed ang internet connection. Parang mga bago yang Flare nyo may software updater noh?

ReplyDelete4GB po yan ang iba ginamit sa Android OS and other system apps, kaya 2.5GB nlng po ang natira. Kahit anong android phone, yan po ang ginagawa. :)

ReplyDelete1 solution that is safe is to do a factory reset. But mawawala po lahat ng installed apps mo. Pero babalik po yang phone nyo nung nabili nyo xa. :)

2. is there any way na maalis/uninstall yung mga apps (kabayan, etc) na installed na dito when i bought the flare?

1. It would be good if you stop running apps, but not all. Just those apps that you know you used and not the system apps.
Delete2. Kabayan is pre-installed kaya hindi yan ma-uninstall. But if you root your phone baka maalis yan. For other apps, you can transfer it to SD to free some space. Go to settings, apps, choose an app, then may option na "Move to SD".
3. Just hold and press the widget, may lalabas na "Remove" sa taas tapos idrag mo yung Widget going there. Mawawala yan sa desktop mo. Tip: alisin mo na lahat ng icons sa desktop, meron na man yan sa home. :)
what about the google services, wiper app.. are those system apps? i'm clueless..

google services is a system app including wiper. Para simple, yung apps na nasa phone na mostly are system apps, yung downloaded from Google Play are not system apps. Sana nakatulong. :)

@anon2: try to restore to factory settings. But since nasa abroad kayo baka kasi hindi compatible ang signal ng Flare sa signal dyan. :)
Meron po akong LG Optimus L3 e400. Maganda namn po ang kinalabasan but still i think, CM Flare po ang gusto ko. I wasnt able to see CM products at SM. Maganda po kasi ung style e. and I'm syill dreaming of having such phone. Can you compare my fone to CM flare po. ^^ gusto ko pong malaman kung manghihinayang po kaya ako pag pinagpalit ko itong LG sa CM. :))
