Anti-Cable Television and Cable Internet Tapping Act of 2013
R.A. No. 10515 signed on April 17,2013, is a binding law that prohibits and gives criminal offense to unauthorized interception, reception or use of any signal or service over a cable televison system or cable internet system and/or network. The said act aims to help Cable Television and Cable Internet Industries from cable and bandwidth pilferage.
Offenders of this act shall be punished with imprisonment of not less that two (2) years but not more than five (5) years or a fine of Php50,000 to Php100,000.
Simply, if you have illegal internet or cable connection you may be placed in jail for 5 years.
