Cherry Mobile Flare gets Jelly Bean Update
Here is the teaser they made for the "Dual-core ng Bayan" also known as the Cherry Mobile Flare.
First Titan gets updated to Jelly Bean. Now it is Flare's turn.
In summary, Cherry Mobile Flare has a 1.2 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor on a 4-inch IPS display screen. If you want to know more specifications of the well-loved Cherry Mobile Flare, I wrote it down here.

ito yung gagawin ko sana kagabi kaso need pala isave yung FW copy sa external SD card. di madetect sa recovery yung nakasave sa phone.

Deletenasa sa site na ni cherry mobile bro...DL mo yung FW copy then copy mo sa external SD card. Turn off your phone. Press the Volume UP button along with the Power Button hanggang yung screen maging orange/yellow then kapag naging red na tanggalin mo na yung pagkakapress mo nang volume Up and Power key. lalabas recovery menu then navigate the screen using the Volume and the power key as confirmation key...click mo yung format/update from external SD then hanapin mo yung FW na nakasave then click Power Key...once completed reboot your device. that's the reason kaya ko sinabi na lahat nang CM android phones rooted na kasi yan di ginagamit pang flash nang ROM to any android phones.

ReplyDeleteYan ba yung bagong firmware? Nagkaroon din ng problema kapatid ko when it comes to reading the SD card after updating the Firmware. What I did was I copied all the files sa laptop ko. Then formatted the microSD. Placed it back sa Flare then naread na yung SDcard. When it comes to Google Play, parang lahat yata nagkakaproblema ngayon. Ako rin hindi gumagana. :(

Lahat yan na download ko sa mediafire. Of all the stock ROMS yung "XFlare_v4.1_Sharp_finalbuild" ang pinaka maganda sa lahat at yan ang gamit ko ngayon. Magmumukhang Sony xperia ang Flare mo at ang UI nya, pang xperia talaga. In more than 2 weeks kong gamit, nag improve ang bat performance. Dati 2x ako mag charge everyday. Now 1x na lang. However, your flare will be automatically be rooted once nainstall mo.

DeleteThanks. Before I forget, reminder lang sa mga mag fflash ng ROM. Flashing new stock ROMS will delete all installed files, apps, settings and other data on your phone. Files stored sa SD card will not be erased. So, sa mga magpapalit, be sure to back up all pertinent data.
DeleteFor those who will use xflare experia style stock ROM, it is recommended to do these 2 important things
1. After flashing, do reset to factory data.
2. After resetting, immediately calibrate your battery.
May battery calibration apps na kasama yun.

DeleteReminder lang po sa mga gagamit nang ROM na yan...first basahin nyo muna pinanggalingan nyan kasi nabricked phone ko gamit xflare41 ROM...need pala CWM Recovery not the flare's stock recovery. dapat may copy ka lagi nung offical CM Flare Stock ROM...kapag nabricked phone mo, yung tipong di na magtutuloy sa pagboboot...ito gawin nyo...Remove the battery. then save nyo yung STOCK ROM ni flare kahit anong version pa yan sa External SD care then run stock recovery then update using ext. SD card. yung nga lang UNROOT na ulit phone mo.

ROM is the internal memory ng phone. Dyan housed ang operating and other system apps. The more ROM the better performance. :)
DeleteFirmware is the version of the operating system. Mas latest mas ok. Latest firmware ay Jellybean. But there are also iterations. like Jelly bean 4.1 and Jelly bean 4.2.

pwede ka mag flash ng v37 ROM kaso downgrade yun, mas maganda ang v41.

ReplyDeleteHindi po sapat internal if maraming apps. Mapili din po flare sa sdcard. Gusto nya yung quality sdcard. Up to 32 gb po kaya nya na sd. Battery is only 1500 mah kaya dala ka always ng charger. Hope nakatulong. :)
DeleteRegarding battery life of flare, it sucks unless you're willing to charge at least twice a day. check for other phone. Hyper and Thunder with hight amps or cloudfone thrill 430x with 4000mAh, a bit chunky though. ~vinci24

FTW Flame 2.0 since scratch resistant na rin sya di nga lang DragonTrail like OHD...specs plus bang for the buck price.
DeleteSi CM OMD if you want full protection nang front screen which is DragonTrail glass na mas matibay sa Corning gorilla glass and also premium feel nang phone. pwede din si OMD as good alternative sa point and shoot camera.
Positive naman reviews kay A919i Duo ni yugatech and noypigeeks pero di ko gusto masyado mukhang dummy unit, sobrang plastic ang material. I just hope tanggalin na ni myphone yung philippine map and change it to something like flag na half inch lang. minimalist design lang sana sa back cover. it really ruined the overall design nang mga myphones.

dapat isinama mo sa comparison ang skyfire 2.0. parang omega hd yan with a slight screen downgrade (qHD vs full HD), downgraded camera (8 vs 12mp) pero quad core ang processor. same price lang as ohd.

ReplyDeletemake it clear sir...you mean to say gumagana charger nya mismo pero sa power bank hindi? if that's the case yung port cable ni power bank may problem...try using powerbank sa ibang phone. pero kung di rin gumagana charger mo or any charger kay flare na kasize nyw which is microUSB, then yung unit ang may problem. if covered pa nang warranty, dalhin mo sa CM service center. just be sure na di rooted si flare. how to unroot it? flash the CM stock rom ulit.

ReplyDeletegalaxy s3 battery is 2100mah. im using one right now ok naman sya. heavy usage ko 50% lasts around 5hrs so its not bad (4hrs inter.et browsing via wifi plus about an hour of temple run 2)

ReplyDeleteit's like bluetooth...think of PSP AdHoc multiplayer setting...pwede mo syan gamitin sa games, apps. kahit walang hotspot na nasasagap...most of the time ginagamit yan sa multiplayer games.

ReplyDeleteCwm is a recovery mode for android phones. This can be accessed thru turning off the device first then power button + volume up/down. Panginstall po yan ng custom roms.. :)

si flare may stock recovery na sya for manual update nang Firmware pero limited yung functionality nya...si CWM which stands for ClockWorldRecovery parehas lang sila ni flare's stock recovery sa gamit pero mas maraming features...yes you need your phone to be rooted first before installing CWM....check my post regarding CWM for Flare http://vinci24.blogspot.com/#!/2013/05/cwm-clockworkmod-recovery-installation.html

Heto po ang steps to change contact picture.
Delete1. Go to Contacts, then click Menu Option (katabi ng Home), Export/import
2. From Sim to google account
3. It will copy all contacts to Google Account.
4. Go to Gallery (Pictures)
5. Choose the Picture you want.
6. Click Menu Option again. Then tap Set Picture as, choose Contact Photo
7. Choose the person
8. Crop the picture
9. Done. :)

Deletewe bought 3 units flare, 2 units are v37 and the other is a v41. here's what i noticed. both v37 have a cool white screen display while the v41 has a warm white display. you can compare them side by side. open a picture or webpage, say yahoo on all units. then notice the white color..the v37 has a whiter white like a fluorescent lamp, whereas the v41 has a white with a bit of yellowish tint..warm white siya. also the 4 lower buttons of the v41 are bluish white..the v41 comes with an addtl icon on the apps page which is the system software update.

DeleteMeron na bang JB ang flare? I'm planning to buy a different phone na ang daming bugs ng flare bulok na bulok! Pinaka important sakin ang cam for skype and etc on the go. Kaso laging nag loloko. Kalimitan pa pag nasa bulsa ko flare ko tapos may bigla akong gusto picturan could not connect to camera error pa kailangan ko pa irestart phone ko. Ending di ko mapicturan sana maayos to ng CM sayang kasi kung bibili pa ko ng bago tapos yung RAM nya sabi 512 daw eh 300+ lang ultimo plant vs zombies hindi gumagana. Daming laro na hindi pwede. Kung bibili kayo ng flare mag isip isip muna kayo baka nasayang pera nyo.

DeleteIf ganon po situation nyo sir go for high-end phones. Di ka magsisisi dyan but butas talaga bulsa mo. In terms of rom, parang naging harddisk din yan tapos yung "ROM" naging paging file. Or kung linux user yan yung "swap file" na partition. Recently ko lang na-isip yan kasi android has a linux base kaya sigurado ko na gagamitin ang ROM for swap files (android system).

ReplyDeleteWow! First gen user ka pala net..hehehe v37 pa ang nasa site ng CM download nyo na lang po save to sd. Tapos turn off nyo phone, then power button + volume up/down, may restore po dun. Then select nyo ang na download na naka save sa sd. Maupdate po yan. :) Nasa taas or sa isang post ko about cherry mobile yung link. Sori mobile kasi ako now. :(

use Fiio portable amplier or try other ROMs (cheapest at 1.3K)...try galaxy rom and v41 then gamitan mo nang magandang earphones like Phillips Oneil Thread or Skullcandy. ~vinci24

ReplyDeleteHow to increase loudness quality of CM Flare - Impossible po, ive tried all the tweaks and custom ROMs. I found out na yung ICS pala ang may gawa kung bakit mahina ang sounds. Example, yung Galaxy Grand ko when I was still with ICS ang Hina tapos nung nag Jelly bean ako lumakas. Yung HTC Explorer ko naka Gingerbread malakas when I updated to ICS humina.
@NET - wala po tayong update na v41 as far as I know kasi inooffer lang yung po sa mga bagong bili na CM Flare thats how inconvenient Cherry Mobile is. Nakita ko yung sa kapitbahay namin he purchased yesterday and yung flare nya walang problem ang CAMERA.
About po sa touch - lahat po ng android phone multi-touch depende po sa application na ginagamit. :)
Naki gamit lang ako ng PC nagreformat kasi ako hindi pa tapos.

Regarding WiFi po if your referring to HotSpot tethering just go to Settings-> More-> Tethering & portable hotspot then tap to activate portable wifi hotspot. To change the name and password of your portable hostpot tap on configure Wi-Fi hotspot.

regarding sounds...nasa sound chip na ginamit yan di dahil kay ICS...di ko naman naencounter kay Xperia Neo V coming from 2.3 to 4.0.4...same with my Xperia GO from 2.3 to 4.0 din.
