DeleteI have their leaflets a week ago and it says there that they are DUAL SIM. After a months of searching for an affordable yet good quality android/smart phones, I think I am considering of buying this stuff because it impresses me so much. I have so many comparisons made already (Specifications, batteries, etc.) from Cherry Mobile, My Phone, Cloud Fone to Starmobile of which the latter I almost consider until I crossed to this phone.

You are very right sir. It all boils down to preference. If you want budget phones then go for it. If you are after the performance then go for high end phones. DeleteThe good thing is Smartphones easily depreciates for 6-12 months, out in the market. That's why I don't invest so much in the gadgets because the moment you buy a unit probably theirs another sophisticated models been release in the market and your unit became inferior.

DeleteYes you're definitely correct. I just have a conservative calculations in order not to exaggerate. The good thing of this smartphones, we the consumers are benefiting of their competitions that we have plenty to choose from. We just have to know our preferences and bingo you will have your smartphone without hurting your pocket so much, with superior design and functions comparable to establish brands.

DeleteIts DUAL SIM, confirmed na po. I have checked it the other day. I will probably purchase come this middle of June. Still waiting for other colors to arrive since black was the common available color yet in our stores here in South Mindanao.
DeleteThe only drawback I would say is hindi pa available sa market ang mga accessories nito like the jelly case, flip cover, hard case o leather case. Unlike the popular brands like iphone & samsung so many choices. And also, i was informed lately by the store in-charge that repairs/warranty were done in Manila. So for us in the province, its really a disadvantage. But given the reputation of this phone, I think i would gamble my bucks on this.
I have already made up my mind (after 5 months of searching & comparing, hehe), I think i found the best smartphone for me as of this moment. No kidding aside.
In terms of it being dual sim, baka po mayroon tlgang dual and single sim variants. Thanks po for giving us ur insights specially sa disadvantages. I think people will he looking forward to this phone. :)

Deleteganyan din nangyari sakin 1st initial charging ko, wait ko lang siya 3hrs natapos, madali talaga siya mabawasan ng battery, like Sir Nico said lower down na lang yung brightness ng phone, kung call at text lang almost 1day sakin pero kung may kasamang gaming and internet mabilis talaga mabawasan sa battery and bout sa camera ganun din sakin.. walang problem phone mo.. Remember 4'5 screen siya and dual core siya kaya mabilis talaga mabawas sa battery.. =)

ReplyDeleteI'm happy to say that I have already bought this unit last Saturday (May 25, 2013) at their SRP of 6,990.00. Although my original plan was to buy it next month probably June 12 because of possible "Sales" promo. But out of excitement I was not able to wait for the color (White) I wanted to. I ended purchasing the black one instead which is the only available color yet in the market.
Now about the unit, I am very satisfied, it run fast and the apps are quite superb. I have already downloaded games (subway surf, temple run 2, zombee, candy crush, etc.) and other tools (pdi, philstar, abs-cbn, gma, avast, etc,) that are informative and relevant to me.
The only drawback I could say is the battery life. True enough it won't last for a day even if you would use it moderately. After I downloaded the games, etc. I immediately cut-off the wifi connection but the battery already eated a lot of percentage.
My unsolicited advice to ALCATEL Philippines is to manufacture available battery that has longer capacity ( at least 3,000 mAH) or more) irregardless of any smartphone model of Alcatel. I'm pretty sure a lot of their clients will purchase this longer battery at a reasonable price.
Another thing is :
Theirs no available casing yet for their units (jelly/hard cases, leather pouch, flip cover, etc.). Sadly, I have to purchased from a different brand (i think its from Myphone/Cherry Mobile) that fits the size but not customized.The saleslady has to cut the back portion in order that camera & flash be seen. Kindly include it in your next agenda to have at least available in the market soon before clients will think twice.
That's all, I hope ALCATEL is listening to our feedback. Your unit is really competitive, superior specs comparable to high end brands. Most of all your friendly price makes it the final deciding point of every practical & yet quality conscious clients are looking for.

I may add more for those who are still contemplating what unit to buy. The camera and music phone features of Sapphire 2 are also good. For the sound, its just in the adjustment of the synthesizer that will make sounds more crisp.

Yeah the unit runs smoothly, so far in my 2 weeks used i have never encountered minor/major problems except lang sa battery na madali mag drain talaga. For those still planning to buy android phones, choose battery life with at least 2,500 mAH so can enjoy more games & surfing. Samsung Galaxy S3 has 2,100 mAH for point of reference.
Deletethanks Nico, yah I have browsed the net last night about Huawei G510, well it looks fascinating also, and it has no far difference with sapphire2,,,but, as I have read some comments about Huawei G510 there were lots of dissatisfying info, the external speaker the RAM, and etc. Well that makes me more decided to have this sapphire2 than any smartphones, with a just price and affordable. Plus the fact that Huawei is made in China and Alcatel as what google says its from France. That gives an edge in selecting smartphones to purchased.

DeleteDefinitely Nicz it depends upon the customer's preference...That is why we need to be wiser in purchasing gadgets such as mobile phones, lets not just be mesmerized of what the supplier talks about its feature, its also worth the while to take a second and more looks especially on the comment portion of those who had already used the item. So that we can avoid throwing money in the air and getting a mediocre item =)....Anyway i really do commend this site, it helps a lot in choosing what cp to buy. Thanks =)

DeleteActually if we refer sa top page ng blog nito its color "Gold". Marami pang color sa website mismo nila. I just couldn't understand why our dealers just sell one or two colors (B/W lang). Siguro marketing strategy na naman nila to para later on mag labas sila ng bagong color, pag medyo di na masyado malakas. But sana meron ng casing available soon in the market.

3. Sa camera, 8mp sana ang minimum ko, pero I have learned na ang mega pixel indicates only the size of the image, hindi ibig sabihin mas malaki is more quality agad, it's more complicated than that daw. More on camera lens daw yun. So ok naman siguro ito.
4. 1800 mAh battery, pasang awa siya. heheh install nalang ng power saver apps.
5. At sa Price:Specs ratio, super sulit siya according na din sa mga comments ng tao dito.

ReplyDeleteBinili ko ito as a birthday gift for my wife..dahil bago black lang ang available color nito pero since needed na din ng wife ko ang new phone to replace her ailing A818 binili ko na din. P7320 ang bili ko ginamit ko kasi ang CC pero pag cash P6,990, eh wala akong cash nun. What can I say its a great phone for its specs..nag compare na ako sa iba pero sabi ko sa self ko nde na ako bibili ng rebranded o china phone, its for my wife I want to give atleast the best in the budget I have, specs wise its good dual core, 4.5 inch screen wow ang laki sabi ni misis sakin at dragontrail yes its dragontrail glass so dapat scratch resistant sya. Kahit na 512 lang ang memory nya smooth naman ang UI ng phone at walang lag, the build is ok naman kahit polycarbonate plastic, yun battery almost ok its 1800Mah can last almost 2 days ndi naman kasi heavy user si misis..was looking for a 2000Mah pero over the budget naman. Camera is good, skype and viber works flawlessly, calls are clear, malakas din ang speaker nito sarap nga manood ng IwantTV.
ReplyDeletePinili ko ito for its name and specs, alam ko wala pa ang Nokia andyan na ang ALCATEL. Kaya for its price I get this phone kahit na mataas pa specs nun CM,MP,SM etc. at the same price it boils down to after sales. And btw, since bago lang ang unit/model na ito wala pa akong mabilhan ng jellycase/silicone case o SP para sa unit na ito although may SP na itong kasama in the box.

I just bought this phone last week and so far it has given a good performance in apps, games, and video calls. Skype clear and fast din and i was able to have a video call abroad. Skype is an internet app kaya kalokohan yung hindi ka maka skype outside of Philippines. Haha! And I tried it, the video call to UK and US is fast using skype on this phone. Battery life, i was able to conserve it by turning off the GPS, WiFi teethering, and set the screen brightness to medium. Lahat nman ng smartphones mabilis tlga ma drain ang battery kase sa dami ng apps na binubuksan natin tapos nakakalimutan natin isarado at nagrurun cya sa background kaya nauubos battery life. Make sure you completely close your apps. Accessories, wla pa, but i bought a leather pouch na size ng iPhone5, dun cya nagkasya. Over all. I love this phone, and the display is in full HD, parang under priced nga itong phone na ito if you look at the materials they used like the dragon trail screen at yung camera, clear din at may motion sensor face recognition. Alcatel Sapphire 2 is a good budget smartphone with better quality and it does not skimp on the the specs. Go buy it. Im contented and happy on this phone. It is dual sim with android jelly bean os :)

DeleteHi there. Just bought the Alcatel Sapphire 2 yesterday. There is a a battery saver app which is already installed. My battery percentage is on 67% when I put it in sleep mode and when I woke up this morning, it would not turned on so I immediately plugged in the charger. When it finally turned on, it was on 1%. Does anyone have an idea why that happened? I was under the impression that selecting the sleep mode would save the battery life but its the other way around..Sigh...Can someone help me on this please? Thanks in advance.

DeleteFinally bought this phone today. My initial findings are:
ReplyDelete1. The unit seems to generate heat at the back when calling and using wifi. I haven't tried gaming yet.
2. The battery back-up isn't too good especially when using camera.
Over-all, the phone seems to be durable. I'll try to post in a couple of days to give an update.
yung sa friend ko din po umiinit yung sa likod when making calls, wifi, and gaming. ang pag nagchacharge din sobra. nag rerestart din sya kasi sa sobrang init na ng unit.

DeleteI've had this phone since June 25, 2013. I've noticed a few thing like:
ReplyDelete1. Heating up while making calls, receiving calls, using wifi and playing games. Once the temperature went up to 42 degrees centigrade. Not sure if this is normal for this phone since the phones i've tried from other brands that which i'll not mention here just goes up to 38 degrees centigrade when doing the same activites.
2. Once while using wifi, downloaded data files for a game. It was fully charged and was downloading for 6 hours, it depleted the battery up to 50% so i suppose that battery back-up is quite good.
3. Front camera is kind of dark even outside. That doesn't really matter to me since i don't often use the front camera anyways.
4. Using the map, it puts me in the general vicinity but not the exact location. Again not a deal breaker to me since i don't use the map that often. It'll be a problem though if i ever tried to use it in another country.
5. Lots of apps already downloaded on the phone and 2 games.
6. How i wish there was an available jelly case, flip cover or leather pouch for it since i'm very careful with my phones and i don't like seeing it with scratches. It's kind of a pet peeve of mine.
7. No other freebies that comes along with the phone kit except a screen protector which gets me thinking why would you need a screen protector if this is supposed to be Dragon Trail glass/Oleophobic coating, go figure. Anyway, i had the screen protector installed coz i don't like my glass scratched. It's free to have it installed so why not, right? You can have it installed where you bought it.
8. Reasonable price for this phone considering the name and the rubost feel to it, feels heavy but comfortable while carrying it. Just be careful not to drop it.
9. Good specifications while not the best, you're getting a phone that comes from an internationally well known brand.
If anybody has a question or two, feel free to leave them here so i can answer them, thank you for reading my comments.
