Will the Hyundai T7 or T7S Be Released in the Philippines?

Mar 22, 2013

I went around the corners of the internet to find an interesting gadget. This tablet has been released in China, with a muscled specification to rival Samsung's newly released SIV.  This device is the high-end Android tablet with the low-cost strategy. So that means a full blown hardware with not a big hole in the pocket. Let's see.

Let me just summarize the Specification of this tablet.

Size: 7 inch
Processor: Samsung Exynos 4412 (quad-core) or Samsung Orion (quad-core)
Display: 1280 x 800 resolution HFFS display
GPS: Yes
Bluetooth: version 2.1 + ERD Module
HDMI: Yes (meaning you can use this with an LCD Projector)
RAM: 2Gb
Battery: 3300mAh (5 hours of use)
OS: Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich or Android 4.1 Jellybean
Camera: 0.3 MP (front); 5MP (rear)

The Hyundai T7S is now available from online stores such as Boxwill, Pandawill, AliExpress and Merimobiles for around $186. Convert that to pesos, around Php 9,000.

My opinion, this tablet is one of the low cost tablets I have seen so far. This is a quad-core processor packed inside a tab. If your single core or dual-core processor is fast, imagine how much faster this tablet can be. However, what sets me off is the battery life. 5 hours? Bring your charger all the time. I just hope some rebranders in the Philippines like Cherry Mobile, MyPhone and Star mobile will find a tab as powerful as this, but at a more Filipino-friendly price.

Over-all Rating:
3.5/5

  2. Hi. I just saw this add in sulit. There are pictures posted there. By the way, based on my experience buying internationally, $186.00 might amount to Php 7,700 only. However, there are additional fees like shipping fee and custom tax. International online seller usually offer free shipping (via China Post) but it usually takes about 1 month and this is kinda risky. China post is prone to lost parcel and they just throw packages during transport which may affect the performance of your gadget. I usually choose EMS which takes about 6-10 days. Shipping fee is about 20USD or 800+ PhP. So if you buy this gadget in international store with express shipping, you might be paying about PhP 8,500.00 + CUSTOM TAX.

    2. Yes. More or less you'll pay PhP 9,000.00. But it still depends on your customs. Some custom office ask big taxes, and some less.

    3. So there are some discrepancies when it comes to customs tax? :) No offfense intended. Thank you for taking the time to comment. I just hope customs tax in the Philippines would be the same throughout the Philippines. If sa Mindanao po ipapadeliver, magkano kaya ang tax?

  3. Just a piece of advice. Please take time to know the policies of your provincial customs. Ask for possible tax for this kind of item. You might come up paying with thousands of pesosesoses! By the way, one common drawback in buying internationally is the term FACTORY DEFECT. If you happen to receive your item and shows a sign of factory defect (standard duration for replacement and refund is 7 days),you need to return it back at your own expense. Shipping item to China via EMS is about PhP 1,000.00+ (in our location PhP 1,067.00 for less than 1kg). This makes seller in the Philippines more preferable because you have somebody to BLAME when you get items with factory defects. :-)

    1. You are right on this. There are risks when you order online. I just hope there would be a store here in the Philippines who will distribute phones or tabs manufactured in China or any nearby Asian country. So that we have entities to BLAME.hehehe for factory defects. Thank you for taking the time. Do you have a website? I would like to visit it from time to time.
