How to Mentally Multiply a Two-Digit Number by 11

Mar 19, 2013

Let me share to you how to multiply two-digit numbers by 11. It's easy!

To multiply by a 2-digit number add the two digits and place the sum in between!
Examples:
A. 25 x 11 =

1) Think 2_5, the number in between should be equal to 2 + 5.
2) 2 + 5 = 7, so the final answer is 275.

B. 34 x 11 =
1) Think 3_4, add 3 + 4.
2) 3 + 4 = 7, that is the number in the middle. Therefore the product is 374.

C. 57 x 11 =
1) Think 5_7. then 5 + 7.
2) 5 + 7 = 12, carry 1. So the product is 627.

I hope you got this. :)

Math will be easy if you practice.
