5 Values to a Harmonious and Peaceful Relationship in the Family

Mar 28, 2013

Before 2013 Holy Thursday ends, I would like to share this reflection about our families.

Here are the 5 values we should have in our Filipino families to keep a peaceful relationship with each other.

5 Values to a Harmonious and Peaceful Relationship in the Family
1. HONESTY
As much as possible maintain a level of honesty with family members. Secrets should not exist in a family.

2. HUMILITY
Say "sorry." Be humble enough to apologize and accept your faults. Why waste your time hurting each other. Forgive.

3. HARD WORK
All should be working. There is no substitute for hardwork. Fruits of hard work are more loved, appreciated and important by self and by others. Do your best and do not steal from others.

4. HOLINESS
Do you still pray as a family? A family that prays together stays together. If God is a center of the family all disagreements will be patched.

5. HUMOR
Instill humor in your family. Find time to eat together and laugh. Eating together should not be the time to do sermons and fights. This is one of the best practices to alleviate problems.

Remember: You have more blessings than problems. Enjoy the moments you spend together. Peace starts in the family. As the song goes, "Don't give up on us baby."
