Pope Benedict Steps Down

When I heard this on television I was really shocked. On February 28, the highest ranking official of the Roman Catholic Church will vacate the pontificate.

Reasons for this were mainly due to health and old age. I am sad that the papacy will be vacant again. I just remembered my catechism lessons about the pope and how they are chosen.


Now I will reread the process of choosing the pope... It is a great mystery for me. Research is on the way. :D

I pray Pope Benedict XVI will stay strong. In these events, God is always present.
